SUN TRACKER® Bass Buggy 18
Jack Dale, Wayland, MI Purchased at Bass Pro Shops, Portage, IN
What We Liked:
- The price!
- The amount of seating and roominess
- Front and rear decks
- The 30 hp Mercury four-stroke
What We Would Change:
Since there’s very little dry storage, I added a box on the rear deck.
Why We Bought It:
I had a 24-foot pontoon boat, but my niece and nephew wanted it to start a floating taco stand, so I needed a new one. I have a TRACKER fishing boat and really like it, so I went to Bass Pro Shops and saw the Bass Buggy 18 and loved it — especially its price. I was pleasantly surprised to see it had a 30 hp fourstroke on it; I was expecting something like a 9.9 at that price. I like to go fishing and cruising on Gun Lake in southwestern Michigan, and it’s a perfect setup for me. I take friends and family whenever they want to go, but often I head out solo and I can do it very economically, which is important when you are retired like me. I was in the Coast Guard for 30 years and have driven lots of boats up to a 210-foot cutter. I owned a boat up in Alaska, and last year I fished the Cracker Boys fishing circuit with my brother. So I’ve been around a lot of boats, but for right now, the Bass Buggy 18 is a good fit for me.
